Volunteer Park Amphitheater

A beloved hub for community life in Seattle’s celebrated Capital Hill neighborhood, Volunteer Park is on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the west coast’s important Olmsted landscapes. Working with the Volunteer Park Trust, we supported the redevelopment of the park’s outdoor amphitheater, including improved accessibility, aesthetics, and function. The completed project provides greater capacity and flexibility for performances, a more durable landscape, and park improvements that reflect the Olmsted intent. Walker Macy’s work on this space was concurrent with other projects to improve landscapes elsewhere in the park and to expand the Seattle Asian Art Museum.
