We are a collaborative, dynamic, and team oriented professional culture with a commitment to innovative design, sustainability, and client satisfaction. While our focus is on public work – including urban parks and waterfronts – we pursue a broad range of projects, ranging from academic campuses to mixed use development. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, rigorous, collaborative, organized, and efficient. We are seeking a candidate with two to four years of relevant experience in office settings for our Portland office.

We are seeking a talented professional to assist with the design and production of projects as part of our landscape architecture, urban design and planning team. This position requires a professional degree in landscape architecture (BLA or MLA), excellent design, graphic and rendering skills (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and SketchUp or Rhino experience preferred), experience producing construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit, strong communication skills and a willingness to take initiative.

  • Digital Portfolio with work samples including at least one Cad drawing – 10 pages or less, no bigger than 8.5 x 11 inch page, in a print ready PDF format. LANDSCAPE DESIGNER (4-6 years) (SEATTLE)
Walker Macy is seeking a talented landscape architect or landscape designer or with four to six years of relevant professional experience to assist in the design and technical development of projects as part of our growing office in Seattle, Washington.
Walker Macy is a design firm that provides landscape architecture, urban design and planning services throughout the Western United States. While our focus is on public projects – including parks, waterfronts, and campuses – we have a broad range of work that includes site design for civic and cultural buildings, interpretive centers, and mixed use development. We have a collaborative and team-oriented professional culture with a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and client satisfaction.
This position requires a professional degree in landscape architecture (BLA or MLA), detail-oriented design skills, graphic representation, experience producing construction documents for medium or large-scale projects, and experience coordinating with other design and engineering consultants. Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated and flexible, with strong communication skills, a willingness to take initiative and an interest in working as part of a team. Professional experience working in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and Rhino is preferred.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Walker Macy is seeking talented individuals for a summer internship in our Portland office. Walker Macy is an award winning firm in the Pacific Northwest with work throughout the Western states. While our focus is on public work – including urban parks and waterfronts – we pursue a broad range of projects, ranging from academic campuses to mixed use development. We have a collaborative, dynamic, and team oriented professional culture with a commitment to innovative design, sustainability, and client satisfaction.
During the summer, Walker Macy offers students the opportunity to participate in a three month internship to explore our profession and connect the theoretical with the practical. With a diverse range of projects to learn from, interns will be exposed to a range of scales and project types. Interns will be exposed to a range of professional activities and challenges such as exploring marketing efforts, urban planning, construction site visits, and design documentation. The ideal candidate will enjoy working on teams and have the ability to prioritize work tasks to meet deadlines.
This paid hourly position (40 hours per week) runs June through August.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills:

  • Enrollment in an accredited landscape architecture program with at least three years of undergraduate study or two years of graduate study
  • Enjoy project design and documentation at all stages
  • Self-motivated, and have great communication skills (both verbally and written)
  • Expertise in AutoCAD, 3-D modeling, Adobe Suite programs and hand sketching
  • Willingness to learn and engage in a diverse range of tasks
