UW Bothell Discovery Hall and Plaza

Building on the firm’s 2010 Campus Master Plan, Walker Macy provided design for Discovery Hall, a new multi-disciplinary science building coupled with a new plaza that creates a social center for the campus. The Crescent Path is the site’s defining feature, creating a new universally accessible route of travel and a terraced, amphitheater-like plaza. The grand staircase along the building’s edge features a lively rain stair which conveys stormwater from the building’s roofs and adjacent surfaces through treatment facilities into the campus’ restored wetland.
