UW Bothell/Cascadia College Campus Master Plan

This 128-acre branch campus of University of Washington sits on a wooded terrace adjacent to protected wetlands and a restored salmon stream. Walker Macy participated in the original campus master plan, a 2016 plan update, and subsequent design projects. The plan is organized to nurture growth, establish sustainable infrastructure, and foster community-building on campus. Significant challenges include steep slopes, relationships to adjacent neighborhoods, creating greater internal connectivity, and prioritizing universal accessibility. Buildings are arranged to maximize daylighting and to minimize excavation and disturbance of native vegetation. With the conservation area as a central focus, the sustainable, visually evident treatment and conveyance of stormwater is a sitewide element of the plan.
