The Unitarian congregation in Seattle’s U-District desired a modernized space that would reflect their legacy and values – a place that would be welcoming and accessible to all, with strong connections to the street and surrounding landscape. Walker Macy is part of the team that is sensitively updating the church with a 25,000 SF renovation. New building entrances and outdoor courtyards will support flexible use and multi-generational gatherings. These spaces also extend the spiritual and community oriented spaces of the building to the outdoors.
