Portland Art Museum, Rothko Pavilion

Walker Macy is Landscape Architect for the Rothko Pavilion project at Portland Art Museum (teamed with Andrea Cochran Landscape Architecture). Walker Macy’s role as the local Landscape Architect is to help the team understand the existing site opportunities and constraints, architectural relationships, and to lead the technical design and documentation of the site. The convergence of arts audiences, local residents, and workers on this historic downtown site has informed this elegant design so that it accommodates museum visitor activity, and respects the local historic context.
