The McMinnville Landing is envisioned as a 190-acre Innovation District in a growing area of McMinnville. Located along a major state highway 18 and near important places like McMinnville Airport, Willamette Valley Medical Center, the Evergreen Aviation campus, Chemeketa Community College, this large greenfield site holds incredible potential for McMinnville’s economic growth. Envisioned as a gateway to the city, McMinnville Landing supports the next generation of industrial and entrepreneurial jobs as well as a vibrant and walkable commercial retail center. With input from the City, property owners, advisory committees and the community, Walker Macy led the master planning process to guide development of 44 acres of commercial area and 101 acres of employment area. The plan weaves these two areas together with green spaces, public gathering places, and pedestrian-friendly pathways–serving workers, visitors, and the McMinnville community. In addition to defining land uses and parks and open spaces, the plan establishes a framework of primary connections, active edges, corners, and building frontages to maintain the intent for a walkable and experiential development. The plan encourages a more innovative, contextual and sustainable urban environment in keeping with McMinnville’s identity as a verdant, livable city nestled into a region of pastoral agricultural landscapes.
