Walker Macy was a key team member for the most recent Oregon Zoo Campus Plan, completed in 2024 to inform the objectives of a capital bond measure, which was passed by voters that same year. This plan will help shape the next era of animal care, resource conservation and education at the zoo. With a focus on areas not improved through the 2008 bond, the plan proposes updates for the zoo’s oldest exhibits and improvements to accessibility and amenities for guests of all ages and abilities, while ensuring that the zoo facilities mitigate and respond climate change. Walker Macy’s role included conceptual exploration of the entry and Polar Plaza redevelopment as definitive visitor experiences that will sustain the Oregon Zoo’s status as a world-class destination for the state.
