TriMet TOD

TriMet’s Regional TOD Plan identified two underutilized Eastside Park & Ride sites as opportunity sites for new transit-oriented development (TOD) along the MAX light rail Blue Line in East Portland and Gresham In 2023, both sites had less than 3 percent utilization, yet each presents a strong infill opportunity to increase ridership and serve diverse, growing communities. Walker Macy led the planning study that provides an innovative and equitable approach that will support a phased future development at these sites. The plan illustrates mixed-income housing in a range of unit sizes and types, including affordable home ownership opportunities; community-serving use and gathering spaces. The document is informed by robust community engagement, market analysis, urban design and mobility studies, and collaboration with partner agencies. This study offers varied and flexible TOD approaches that respond the character, goals, and needs of individual neighborhoods.
