Pennoyer Street

A designated green street in Portland’s emerging South Waterfront district, Pennoyer Street was conceived as a demonstration of sustainable, ped/bike priority streets in a new high-density neighborhood. The street links the neighborhood’s upland grid to the Central District segment of the South Waterfront Greenway along the Willamette River. With permeable pavers and rain gardens to manage runoff and filter stormwater, the design demonstrates environmental responsibility and encourages multi-modal access through an inviting green corridor.
