Forest Park Entrance and Nature Center

Portland, OR

At 5,000+ acres, Forest Park is the crown jewel of the Portland park system and one of the largest urban forests in the United States. This project will provide a unique point of entry to the park, sitting on the edge of a protected industrial neighborhood and an environmental conservation zone. Interpretive exhibits will showcase Forest Park’s uniqueness as a managed forest in a constant state of succession. The site design incorporates boardwalks, trails and overlooks that are designed to lead visitors of all abilities through a progression of restored landscapes including wet meadows and forested wetlands, young Doug Fir forest, and mature oak woodland.
