Xiaoyue is a graduate of UC Berkeley’s Master of Landscape Architecture program. She appreciates how she can weave together research and design through landscape architecture in a delicate balance between science and art. In her studies, she explored how computational fluid dynamics can shape micro-climates in urban plazas, how scenic beauty estimation can be applied to analyze waterfront plantings in urban parks, and how design can take advantage of sea level rise to create new public space in fragile communities.
