Taryn Wiens

Landscape Designer

Taryn is a landscape designer with experience in comprehensive planning, concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration. She has experience on a range of public and private projects from a 2,500-acre conservation area to mixed-use developments to historically significant institutions including Nina Simone’s Childhood Home in Tryon, NC. In addition, Taryn has published research in the Journal of Architectural Education, Landscape Research Journal, and The Site Magazine and she was a lead speaker at a session on community land stewardship and design at the 2022 ASLA Conference. She is interested in how the landscape materials used in design can support ecologically vibrant urban spaces, while drawing attention to the natural histories particular to each place.
