After crisscrossing the country, Ian joined Walker Macy from Virginia Polytechnic and State University with his Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture. While working on his undergraduate degree in marine Biology, he first learned about landscape, by studying the land-sea interface and documenting consequences of urban runoff. His design approach is contextual and ecological, thinking about people, nature, and atmosphere as unique, site specific entities that may be brought together in mutually beneficial relationships through thoughtful site design. Ian looks forward to the opportunity to create beautiful places where people, nature, and design coexist in complementary ways. In his free time, Ian remains a student of the craft, visiting parks, attending lectures, reading theory, and entering design competitions with friends.
