This healing garden for the Outpatient Oncology Unit of the hospital creates a space of beauty to help ease stress for patients and family members. The garden also provides a pleasing view from within the hospital unit. The challenge was to create a safe garden in a small space ajdacent to a busy street. To create an airy feeling, screen walls made of woven wire fabric separate the garden from the public space and a sail floats overhead for shade.
