KIM DAVIES"Landscape architecture is the combination of analysis and imagination in choreographing space," says Davies, who became intrigued by landscape design while studying in Copenhagen, exploring the city's public spaces and Scandinavia's beautiful countryside. Davies grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY and attended college at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. "After graduating I wanted to go someplace new; I'd never been to the west coast. After careful consideration, I settled on Portland because of its reputation for sustainability and because of Oregon's beautiful and diverse landscape. So I packed up my Civic and drove west!" Davies is a member of the Chamber Music Society of Oregon, and plays the violin in their Symphony Orchestra. She is also a coxswain for the Willamette Rowing Club. In her free-time she is reading and getting to know Portland by exploring on foot. |
