ERIC SARGEANT

“I see myself as an artistic environmentalist,” says Eric Sargeant, “combining art and problem solving together to create spaces that are both beautiful and functional.” His first glimmer of inspiration came at Disneyland when he was younger. “I thought there must be people who design places like Tom Sawyer's Island and the Indiana Jones ride,” remembers Eric. “I wanted to be one of those people.”

When Eric was in college at Cal Poly Pomona, he commuted 60-90 miles each day. After surviving the grueling California freeways,he decided to find a city where he would get around sans wheels.“ Portland was at the top of my list because of its progressive environmental policy,” he says. When Eric isn't riding the bus or at work, he's sketching around the city, looking for new coffee shops or bars, updating his website and trying to meet new people.
