Nathan Kappen

“Landscape Architecture is passion, art, business and science,” says landscape designer Nathan Kappen. “Natural or artificial, it's very complex.” Born in Spokane, Washington, Nathan discovered landscape architecture by fate. “I have always been inquisitive and often find myself lost in my own imagination,” Nathan says, “so creating visceral environments was a great fit for me.” When Nathan was in school at WSU, he toured Walker Macy during a field trip. “At that time, I remember telling myself that someday I would work here. It just felt right the first time I stepped in.” When Nathan isn't working, he's traveling, whether it's daily on the MAX or in a different country. “I'm fascinated with the surroundings and opportunities of a new time and place.”
