“As a landscape architect, it's important to understand construction methods,” says Landscape Architect Mike Gaussa. As Quality Control/Construction Administrator, Gaussa assists the construction process by coordinating with the contractor. “I've always liked to build things and have always been in touch with landscape construction, from laying brick patios, to building stone walls, to teaching at-risk youth the proper methods for planting street trees,” says Mike. “I enjoy sharing my knowledge, but please don't ask me to help put sprinklers in your front yard,” he jokes. “My body's already broken from landscaping my relatives' yards.” When Mike's not controlling quality or doing family favors, he can be found on the golf course or behind an easel painting “en plein air.”
